The job is based on the Charborough Estate in Dorset, which includes a variety of business activities ranging from an in-hand farm, let farms, rental properties and commercial woodlands.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeper to work alongside the Estate Accountant to provide a full bookkeeping service for a variety of entities. The role involves liaising with the internal property, forestry and farm teams as well as external suppliers and tenants.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes raising sales invoices and rent demands, management of credit control, and maintaining up-to-date tenancy details.
Processing bank receipts, payments and bank reconciliations.
Processing supplier invoices and payments, including correct VAT coding.
Prepare, maintain and deliver accurate accounts information on a timely basis to the Estate Accountant to feed into formal accounts production.
In addition to the tasks described above, you may be expected to carry out other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time.
Key Skills
A proactive, organised person with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience working in finance or accounts essential.
Attention to detail and highly numerate.
Able to prioritise and organise one’s own workload to meet deadlines
Willingness to work as part of a small team based in a rural setting.
Ability to work flexibly, providing cover for colleagues when required.
Experience in property work a bonus, IT proficient, with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel to perform required tasks.
